MD Notebook A6 Artist Collaboration - Mateusz Urbanowicz

In celebration of MD's 15th year anniversary, the MD team invited Mateusz Urbanowicz and 14 other artists to get creative with the MD Notebook and enjoy the way you can write everywhere, even on the cover. Then they created a special-edition MD Notebooks with the artists' illustrations and writing blind embossed on the covers.

With the artists given carte blanche on an A5 MD, the original artwork is debossed on an A6 notebook.

Mateusz Urbanowicz for Midori MD

Mateusz is a Polish-born, Japan-based illustrator. He used to work for anime production company Comix Wave Films, where he worked on background art for many works, including Your Name. In 2017, he struck out on his own, publishing long-selling artwork collections such as Tokyo Storefronts and Tokyo at Night. His works have garnered many fans around the world.

About their artwork for Midori MD, Mateusz shares: "I use sketchbooks and notebooks every day to memorize interesting elements of everyday spaces and as a free creation ground for almost all my drawings and paintings. All my art starts from a rough squiggle on a page."
